Hundreds of volunteer opportunities available for individuals and groups to support race operations, fan experiences, and event-day activities on August 29 and 30.

PHILADELPHIA (April 24, 2026) – The 2026 Philadelphia Cycling Classic, presented by AmeriGas®, is set to once again bring world-class cycling back to the streets of Philadelphia, and community members are invited to volunteer for its highly anticipated return on August 30, 2026

Whether individuals are longtime cycling fans or simply looking to get involved in one of the many premier sporting events this year in Philadelphia, volunteering offers a unique behind-the-scenes experience and a chance to contribute in a meaningful way.

Volunteers are needed across a wide range of roles, including:

  • Course Marshals positioned along the race route: Course Marshals play a critical role in ensuring the safety of cyclists and spectators along the race course. Positioned at key intersections and turns, Course Marshals help guide riders along the correct route while alerting traffic and pedestrians that a bike race is in progress.

  • Hospitality support at key event locations: Hospitality Volunteers help create a welcoming and professional experience for VIP guests, sponsors, teams, and race officials. This role supports the hospitality area by assisting with set-up, check-in, clean-up, and break-down.

  • Medical Control Athlete Escorts: Medical Control Athlete Escort Volunteers assist race officials with the anti-doping and medical control process. This role involves escorting selected cyclists from the finish area to the designated medical control location and ensuring they remain within view until released by officials. Professionalism and discretion are essential.

  • Multiple opportunities to support the Philadelphia Cycling Classic Charity Ride for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), a community-focused ride that gives participants the opportunity to ride the course before the professionals while raising funds for cancer research.

Opportunities are available throughout race weekend at various locations, including Lemon Hill, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Manayunk, and other points along the course.
