Tim Torn Teutenberg initiates the next era of champions for the Philadelphia Cycling Classic
Iconic race presented by AmeriGas makes its comeback on the streets of Philadelphia
and the international racing stage
PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 30, 2026) — Tim Torn Teutenberg (Germany, 24) of Lidl–Trek claimed victory in the men’s Philadelphia Cycling Classic presented by AmeriGas® on Sunday, overcoming a field of 89 riders from 15 teams and seven countries and beginning a new era of champions in the highly anticipated return of one of professional cycling’s most beloved races.
Teutenberg covered the 120-mile (200-kilometer) race in 4:20:55, besting Robert Donaldson (United Kingdom, 24) of Team Jayco AlUla and Jonas Rutsch (Germany, 28) of Lotto–Intermarché.
“International cycling again has a home in Philadelphia, and these athletes proved today why this race belongs here and why it is so important for American cycling,” said Carlos Rogers, co-owner of the race and co-founder of Race Street Partners, along with former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Eric Robbins. “Congratulations to Tim Torn Teutenberg! The victory adds Teutenberg to a championship roll that includes some of cycling's superstars and resumes a tradition that began when the race first took to Philadelphia's streets in 1985. After a 10-year absence, the Classic once again delivered its signature combination of speed, grueling climbs, and tactical racing across its 14.4-mile circuit.

The Penn Medicine King of the Mountain competition went to David Lozano Riba (Spain, 37) of Team Novo Nordisk, who accumulated 21 points across eight trips up the legendary Manayunk Wall and Lemon Hill.
Killian O'Brien (Ireland, 20), of Team Skyline took the AmeriGas Men’s Sprint competition with nine points at the designated sprint zone in East Falls.
Over the course of 120 miles, the men’s field was tested by a race that rewards both raw strength and tactical precision. Eight ascents of the Manayunk Wall, a half-mile climb reaching grades of 17%, put repeated pressure on the field, while the final laps through Fairmount Park set up the last opportunity to make a winning move before the finish on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The men competed for a $75,000 prize purse, matching the women’s race and continuing the Philadelphia Cycling Classic’s commitment to equal prize money, a tradition the event established in 2013.
